KSS is a group of mountain bike enthusiasts in the Southern Kansas/Wichita area. We love to ride bikes, race bikes and build new trails. We ride mountain and road bikes and simply love all facets of outdoor living. Among us are cyclists, mountain bikers, runners, swimmers, adventure racers, Geocachers and so much more. The common thread is that we sincerely enjoy life on the trail.

KSS is a non-profit organization that is an advocate for outdoor activities, is an affiliate of the International Mountain Biking Association (IMBA) and the Kansas Trails Council, which support the creation, maintenance and usability of mountain biking and multi-purpose trails. With this advocacy, KSS believes in proper trail stewardship through maintaining trails through non-usage during wet periods, trail maintenance to keep the trail safe, and keeping the trail environment clean. Kansas Singletrack Society fully supports the IMBA Rules of the Trail, which promotes responsibility and courteous conduct on shared-use trails. KSS has a mission to place trails within reach of any person wanting to explore the mountain biking experience, or wishes to see nature in a new and exciting way.

Since KSS has been organized in 2003, members have spent thousands of hours maintaining and building mountain bike trails. We have added several miles of singletrack at Camp Horizon and created a mountain bike trail near Wichita called Miller's Meadows and Chapin Park, as well as currently expanding the trails at Fall River Lake. Furthermore Air Capital Memorial Park in West Wichita is being designed and created in conjunction with the Wichita Parks and Recreation. We have also participated in IMBA trail design workshops and applied newly acquired techniques on our local trails. For more information about KSS, including regional races, trail updates, trail building work schedules, and to get to know the current members, you can follow KSS on Twitter and on Facebook.
